Jointline has successfully completed the installation of Surface Mounted Tactile paving on a dropped crossing point at the junction of Great Horton Road and Havelock Street in Bradford. This project, in collaboration with Bradford Metropolitan Council, aims to improve the local footway network and enhance accessibility for the partially sighted.

The original crossing had been damaged by heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) delivering to a nearby supermarket, posing safety risks and compromising accessibility. Resin tactiles offer a durable, anti-slip surface with distinct textural features that serve as a navigational aid for the partially sighted. The resin material is robust enough to withstand the pressures exerted by HGVs, making it a long-lasting solution.

The project was executed with precision to integrate the resin tactiles, using a resin solution, with the freshly laid tarmac. All work complied with relevant regulations, reflecting Jointline Limited's commitment to quality and safety.

Mark Garrad, Head of Highways for Jointline Limited, commented, "We are proud to collaborate with Bradford Metropolitan Council on this initiative. The resin tactiles are not just an infrastructural upgrade; they represent a long-term investment in creating an inclusive environment."

The completion of this project sets a precedent for future accessibility enhancements within Bradford's local footway network. It serves as a model for other councils looking to invest in durable and effective infrastructure solutions. The project also highlights the value of public-private partnerships in achieving community goals.
