Jointline has recently finished a road marking project for Aggregate Industries UK at Whittington Moor roundabout in Chesterfield. The aim was to enhance road safety by redesigning lane markings and the roundabout's layout.
This new design provides clearer directions for drivers, reducing sudden braking and unexpected lane changes, thus lowering the incidence of accidents at this typically busy junction.
A key feature of the redesign is the strategic narrowing of the roundabout at certain points. This visual adjustment is designed to promote better lane discipline and slower speeds, thus improving overall road safety.
Moreover, the approach roads to the roundabout now have updated lane markings with directional arrows, indicating the route to specific destinations. The new markings will help decrease confusion and enhance traffic flow by assisting drivers in choosing the correct lane well before reaching the roundabout.
