Introduction
Jointline recently delivered a pedestrian walkway lining scheme within a high-volume distribution warehouse, designed to enhance safety for personnel while maintaining the efficiency of daily logistics operations. The project focused on creating clearly defined pedestrian routes to improve segregation between people and vehicle movements in a busy operational environment.
The Challenge
The warehouse operates continuously, with high levels of vehicle and personnel activity throughout the day. Introducing new safety markings within such an environment required careful planning to avoid disruption to logistics processes and warehouse throughput.
The client required durable, highly visible pedestrian walkways that could withstand heavy use while ensuring the works were completed with minimal operational downtime.
The Solution
Jointline worked closely with the client to carefully phase the works and segregate active areas of the warehouse, allowing the project to be completed while normal operations continued.
The existing surface was mechanically prepared to create a strong key, ensuring optimal adhesion of the applied materials. An instant-cure UV paint system was then used to apply the pedestrian walkway markings. Each coat was immediately cured using specialised UV lighting, allowing the markings to reach full strength within minutes.
This rapid curing process ensured that newly marked walkways could be returned to service almost immediately after application.
The Benefits
The completed pedestrian walkway scheme has significantly improved safety within the warehouse by clearly defining safe walking routes for staff.
By using a UV instant-cure system, Jointline minimised disruption to the client’s operations, ensuring the facility remained fully functional throughout the project. The resulting markings provide a durable, impact-resistant finish suitable for high-traffic logistics environments, supporting long-term safety and operational efficiency.
