Jointline recently completed the line marking works for a hospital car park in North Lincolnshire, marking the third of five car parks in an ongoing project to enhance traffic management and pedestrian safety across the site. The Challenge
The hospital’s existing car park layout presented several issues, including unclear traffic flow, insufficient designation of staff parking, and the need for safer pedestrian walkways. Additionally, there were specific requirements for accessible parking bays and maintaining unobstructed areas for emergency vehicle access. The Solution
Jointline’s team implemented a comprehensive relining solution, creating distinct zones for different user groups. Green spaces were designated for hospital staff parking, and pedestrian crossings were added to improve safety for those moving through the car park. Yellow hatchings were applied to disabled bays, the ambulance drop-off area, and a large section marked with a "no entry" sign to reserve space for emergency vehicles. Clear traffic flow demarcations were also introduced to help manage congestion and enhance the overall usability of the car park.
