A444 Twycross

Jointline completed a contract on the A444 in Twycross for regular client, Hanson UK. The scheme included centre lines, speed limit roundels, urban nearside flat line continuous edges and give way markings to adjacent roads. All the markings were completed using Leicestershire County Council specified Hitex International Group HiBrite thermoplastic 200mcd in white, which provides high levels of retroreflectivity, colour and heat stability, durability and adhesion.

When the team received the drawings, it was noticed that roads studs were missing from a section of double white line that normally has them, a tender query was raised with the client who agreed they were required and the Halifax road studs were added to the order saving time and avoiding a potential rectification revisit after the works were completed.  

The project was completed over 2-night shifts with a 5-man machine and screed crew on the first shift and a 2-man screed crew on the second shift. Traffic management was in place for the duration of the project with road closures and diversions.
